Privacy Policy
Effective September 10, 2026
C.I.T. is a local-first equipment inventory and shoot-day verification app. This policy explains what information C.I.T. handles and the choices available to you.
Information stored on your device
C.I.T. may store information you choose to enter or create, including:
- equipment, package, storage-case, asset-tag, and maintenance details;
- project names, shoot dates, reports, verification history, and notes;
- project images you select from your photo library;
- saved locations and optional location snapshots associated with gear checks;
- NFC and QR identifiers used to identify items and packages; and
- app preferences and onboarding state.
This information is stored locally in the app's private storage. C.I.T. does not provide an account system, developer-operated cloud sync, advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics, and the developer does not receive your inventory or project data.
Camera, photos, NFC, and location
- Camera: used only when you choose to scan a QR code. Camera frames are processed for scanning and are not recorded or uploaded by C.I.T.
- Photos: used only when you choose an image for a project. The selected image is copied into local app storage.
- NFC: used when you choose to read, write, or rewrite a compatible tag. The tag carries a C.I.T. link or identifier; C.I.T. does not use NFC in the background to track you.
- Location: requested only when you choose a location-related action. A location can be saved locally with a gear check or saved place. You can deny location access and continue using the rest of the app.
Maps and external services
Map display, address lookup, and directions may use Apple Maps and Apple's location services. If you choose Google Maps directions, C.I.T. opens a Google Maps link containing the destination coordinates. Apple and Google process that information under their own Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
The getcit.app website and C.I.T. links are delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested path, and timestamps to deliver and secure the site. The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies operated by C.I.T. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for information about Cloudflare's processing.
Website launch updates
If you choose to join the launch list, your email address, signup time, and the version of the consent wording are stored in a Cloudflare-hosted database for C.I.T. This is separate from the equipment and project data stored on your device. The list is used to send the C.I.T. launch news you requested, based on your consent. Joining does not guarantee TestFlight access.
Cloudflare also processes your IP address transiently to limit abusive signup requests. Your IP address is not stored in the signup list. Signup information is kept until you withdraw consent or the launch-news purpose has ended, then removed from the active list.
Leave the launch list
Enter the address you used to sign up. If it is on the list, it will be removed.
Why information is handled
C.I.T. handles information on your device only to provide features you choose to use. Device permissions are requested when needed for those features and can be withdrawn in iOS Settings. Standard website request information is processed as necessary to deliver and secure getcit.app and to support the developer's legitimate interest in operating a reliable website.
Exports and sharing
You can export backups, inventory files, labels, and project reports. C.I.T. creates these files locally and shares them only when you choose a destination in the system share sheet. Once shared, the selected destination's privacy practices apply. Exported files may contain the information shown to you before export, including project images or saved coordinates where applicable.
TestFlight
Beta versions distributed through TestFlight are also subject to Apple's TestFlight and privacy practices. Apple may provide the developer with beta feedback, crash information, and limited device or installation information.
Retention and your choices
Local information remains on your device until you edit or delete it, replace the app's data from a backup, or delete the app. Files you export remain wherever you saved or shared them and must be removed there separately. You can manage camera, photo, NFC, and location permissions in iOS Settings.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information processed about you. Because C.I.T.'s app data remains on your device, you can exercise most of these choices directly in the app or by deleting the app. For launch-list requests, use the removal form on this page. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
C.I.T. is a professional equipment-management tool and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when C.I.T.'s features or data practices change. The effective date above will be revised when a material update is published.
